| Congo music, rumba, soukous, ndombolo
call it what you want has been tops in African Music and
influenced just about every African music style. Soukous
is known for its intricate giutars. Kinshasa has been
the musical heart of the continent with great rumba dance
bands like African Jazz, Franco's OK Jazz and African
Fiesta. Then Came Zaiko Langa Langa, Papa Wemba, Pape
Kalle, Bozi Boziana and Koffi Olomide. In the late 80's
the classic era was over spearheading the new Paris scene
was Kando Bongo Man with commercial insight, other key
Paris players included Pepe Kalle, Rigo Star and Koffi
Olomide, Madilu System, Mbilia Bel and Yondo Sister. |

at a prolific rate. From the 50's with professional bands
with electric guitars, horns and percussion to soukous
